A diving into the mysterious and magic universe of the painter and sculptor Pierrette-Gonseth Favre, is a captivating adventure. Inhabited by an imaginary which seems to go to the sources of the oldest ages, the artist places the human being in front of his origins and his destiny. Under her prodigiously skilful fingers, linen and iron threads come to life in the most astonishing way. They weave a way of life, twisting, thickening, forming roots, go thinner, into light boughs, wear unusual and various signs, like the embodiment of a different world. One holds his breath facing an art so strange and fascinating !

Lightness, delicacy, approach of the emptiness, all together seduction and vertigo, game of furtive shadows, open spaces towards the infinite, it is a world where the individual, little by little, rids oneself so as to keep the essential : his spirituality and his roots to survive, to fix himself solidly into the earth and be able to draw sap and energy. It is an appeal to life, a strong quest, peopled with tiny little personages, rowing in boxes, which totemic bearing calls the attention, carefully elaborated with linen threads. It is also the spider’s webs made of thin iron threads, - one of the favourite ways of expression of the artist -, which sometimes metamorphose into roots and hanging mobiles.
The eye is attracted here and there, trying to find some reference marks, and is soon seduced by so much poetry, gaiety and playful spirit, but in another way is also destabilized, perceiving the anguish and the hidden lacerated wounds. A unique and original universe, where tiny little spirits, elfs or imps, seem to dance on their tiptoes, swirling and spinning round.

Each object is wonder, astonishment, light, spring of a different order. The artist is also talented in story telling and each of her works could give birth to a fairy tale.
